The Owen County Quilt Trail

Welcome to the Owen County Quilt Trail.

Owen County has a rich heritage of quilters throughout the many communities.  Quilting is a tradition that has existed for many generations, and must be shared in order for it to survive.

As the quilt trail began to spread across Kentucky, so spread the interest with our Extension Homemakers, farming families, and quilt enthusiasts.

Our trail consists of over 100 painted quilted squares.  Please enjoy the scenery as you pass through our website and our Quilt Trail of Owen County.

This pattern is called the Farmer's Delight, which is located in front of the Owen County Cooperative Extension Office.  This pattern was chosen to represent Extension and the many programs like Family & Consumer Sciences, Agriculture & Natural Resources, and 4-H Youth Development.

The Log Cabin pattern is located on a barn at the University of Kentucky's Eden Shale Research Farm.  All programs with the Owen County Cooperative Extension Service are operated under the University of Kentucky,
The Owen County Quilt Trail Website is directly affiliated with the Owen County Cooperative Extension Service, which is an educational outreach of the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture.
